Tagasaste Mower

A high speed mower designed for economical maintenance of Tagasaste and similar fodder shrubs.

Tagasaste (Chamaecytisus palmensis) was traditionally used in the Canary Islands as fodder for grazing animals in the dry season. It is sometimes called tree lucerne and research in Western Australia suggests that edible dry matter yields of 11 t/ha/yr are obtainable in good conditions. The mower cuts an inverted vee shape that allows easy access for stock, and fresh fodder is readily available to livestock. Included is a deck safety guard and wheel kit to allow the mower to be used as an offset slasher or hay mower

Features

  • Convenient three point linkage mount with folding cutter deck for easy transport.
  • Height of cut leaves good trunk size for regrowth.
  • Cuts an inverted vee shape to keep sides of shrubs under control and allow easy access for stock
  • Produces a controlled windrow alongside the row, that can be easily grazed, or collected for grass or silage.
  • Designed to cut and form a windrow behind the deck so that special guards or shields are not required.
  • Low maintenance and operating costs.
  • Includes deck safety guard and wheel kit to allow the mower to be used as an offset slasher or hay mower.
